Come and visit us at Digital Simple on 16th September 9.30am-4pm at OPEN, Bank Plain, Norwich.

This year Vodafone in association with OneStream (Vodafone Premier Partner) will be sponsors at Digital Simple, Norfolk’s largest digital event.

Organised by the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, the conference comprises three tracks of presentations with specialist workshops and an exhibition running in tandem. The event has been staged to provide a platform for the complex and hi-tech digital and IT industry, and visitors will be able to find out everything they need to know about email and internet, mobile phones, Cloud computing, security, the latest software and hardware, plus a wealth of other related areas of technology.

Caroline Williams, CEO of the Norfolk Chamber of Commerce, said: “The digital and IT industry is a vital growth area in Norfolk, but it is highly complex, fast moving and there is a bewildering array of equipment in the market. The Norfolk Chamber understands that businesses need guidance, advice and the inside track on what the future holds. “Digital Simple will clearly explain the available technology to help businesses make informed decisions about how to invest as cost effectively as possible. This in turn will enable them to reach new customers and increase business.”

Digital Simple is ideal for everyone in business, but particularly those who need to know the capability and cost of major IT investment, or IT managers looking to unify platforms and improve efficiencies.

Phil Rider, Chairman at OneStream said “We are delighted to be sponsoring an event with such an emphasis on the products and services we offer. This is a great way for businesses of Norfolk to learn more about day-to-day technologies such as mobile, fixed line and IT solutions that can help to improve efficiency and productivity of their business whilst delivering real cost savings. It is also a great opportunity to introduce new technologies to further improve the way we work, and I look forward to introducing our new converged communication offering – Vodafone One Net”

Digital Simple is free to attend and we would be delighted if you would come along and see us there.

We will have a stand running throughout the day and don’t miss our 30 minute presentation slot in which we will be introducing our new converged communication offering – Vodafone One Net.

The Vodafone Access Gateway service gives you a great 3G signal throughout your home, no matter where you live. All you need is a broadband line and the Gateway – a clever little box that’s simple to install.

What you need

  • A compatible phone – Our Gateway works with anyVodafone 3G phone. If your phone doesn’t have 3G, why not upgrade now?
  • A home broadband line – With a minimum speed of 1Mbps.

We are keen to know which business mobile customers in East Anglia would be interested in this device as although there is great coverage in the more populated areas, there are of course some areas which are “patchy” to say to the least, particularly inside newer office structures.

If you would like a demonstration please contact us at info@onestream.co.uk

Netbooks – ready for the corporate environment?

Broadband Internet and Access, IT Support and Services, Mobile Broadband, Onestream No Comments

Netbooks are a new category of small, light and relatively cheap laptops. Designed primarily for web browsing and email, they have emerged as an unexpected consumer success – users value their lightweight form factor, portability and low cost. Rarely bought to displace more powerful desktop or conventional laptop computers, they have become a disruptive, high-volume market segment, employing wireless and mobile broadband technology to ‘plug people in’ wherever they are. And in the consumer space, they are selling like hot cakes – according to ABI Research*, worldwide shipments are expected to exceed 35 million in 2009, rising to an estimated 139 million in 2013 – and that’s as many units as the current worldwide laptop market.

But can their benefits translate easily into the corporate environment? What are the hurdles to be overcome before netbooks are as widely used in the office – and by mobile workers, out of the office – as their more cumbersome and expensive counterparts?
